McCook, IL June 30, 2026 – Pelstar LLC, the manufacturer of Health o meter® Professional Scales, announces the newest product in their portfolio of ADA compliant scales, the 2622KL Digital Wheelchair and Stand-on Scale. The dual-purpose 2622KL is engineered with enhanced safety features to ensure a comfortable weighing experience for patients standing on the platform and for those who use wheelchairs. This new scale is third-party certified compliant with the U.S. Access Board Standards for both stand-on and wheelchair scales. The dual ramps adhere to a 1:8 slope ratio and the handrail height is within the required 34”-38” range. The ramps and extra-large 32” x 40” platform feature a 2” edge protection to prevent roll-offs, and antislip caution tape on the ramps provide enhanced safety. The platform folds for storage, and built-in casters are included for added convenience and mobility. Additional features include an antimicrobial keypad, a wall-mounted display head, and a large non-skid platform.
Maintaining the company’s commitment to backward compatibility, retrofit kits are available for facilities already using 2600KL and 2610KL scale series or have previously purchased the ADA compliant 2620KL wheelchair scale. The 2622ADAKIT includes components that allows owners of 2600KL or 2610KL series scales to convert their scale into the ADA compliant 2622KL dual purpose model. Facilities with 2620KL wheelchair scales can purchase the 2622HB kit that replaces the existing handrail and brings the scale into compliance with stand-on scale requirements. There is also an optional transport kit for 2622KL scales to conveniently transport and store the scale’s display head when not in use, available as item # 43-00070.
