ELEVATE EMRscale

The HITECH Act mandates that physicians and hospitals must utilize certified EHR / EMR systems by the end of 2014 or they will be penalized with reduced Medicare and Medicaid payments. Practitioners must also follow meaningful use criteria within these EMR systems which includes electronically recording a patient’s weight, height and Body Mass Index (BMI).

Device connectivity is becoming vital for healthcare facilities and the Elevate EMRscale is the simplest solution to help practitioners become EMR compliant.

The Elevate EMRscale digitally measures height, weight and BMI and transmits those measurements via its Connectivity Kit. This Connectivity Kit is an external adapter that allows the scale to interface with Welch Allyn Spot Vital Signs® LXi, and Welch Allyn Connex® Vital Signs Monitors and Welch Allyn Connex® Integrated Wall Systems.* From the Welch Allyn device, the data can then be displayed, saved, and transferred into EMR systems.** This transmission of the vital signs measurement into the EMR system then helps the healthcare provider meet the vital signs meaningful use criteria.

Additional Features and Benefits of the Elevate EMRscale™

*Spot Vital Signs LXi: Only accepts and displays weight from scale. The LXi does not accept height from scale, height must be entered manually on the LXi. BMI is calculated but is only displayed on the review screen, not on the main screen. Note: Spot LXi accepts only weights > 5 kg (11.02 lbs)

Connex® Devices with 1.7 Software: Accepts and displays weight, height, and BMI when transmitted from the scale (the Connex monitor does not calculate BMI). The monitor also allows for manual entry of weight, height, and/or BMI.

**Transfer to the EMR requires the EMR vendor to have an existing interface that accepts these parameters from Welch Allyn devices.
